Required Team Gear

1) A team first aid kit suitable for all activities. 
2) 1 Small shovel (a broad scoop or wide blade, LARGE spoons OK)
3) Two compasses, each carried by separate individuals 
4) 5' of standard useable duct tape 
5) One waterproof map case (Ziploc's ok, maps are not waterproof) **VERY IMPORTANT
(YOU WILL GET WET)
6) One bike pump or inflation kit - Bike Discipline
7) Bike tools - Bike Discipline
8) Tire repair kit  - Bike Discipline 
9) At least two pencils or pens
10) Water 100oz minimum

* Racers may carry a cell phone, though they may not use it.  It is for Emergency purposes only and must be kept in the “Off” position for the duration of the race.  Penalties will result if anyone is caught using a phone.

 

   Henderson NV

Lake Las Vegas is a beautiful made made lake / resort just a 15 minute drive from Las Vegas and only 10 minutes away from Henderson. Race Start and Finish will be in the MonteLago village.

An Adventure Race Social will be at the Auld Dubliner Irish Pub from 4 - 6 pm.
(This is a smoke free Pub, discounts prices for race participants)
A FREE outdoor Jazz Concert will follow at 7 pm.
Rooms are available on site.


-Check in time Friday 6-8 pm / Saturday 6-7 am (MonteLago Village)
-Pre-Race Meeting and Gear check 7 am
- Race Begins at 8 am (Rain or Shine)
-4 to 8 hour estimated race completion time.
-All CP's will be pre-marked on the map.
-FREE Massages available - Beverly Grant will be giving FREE massages before and after the race, Tips are appreciated.


- Be Ready, don't underestimate this race. As beautiful as this resort is, this is still going to be a rugged adventure race through the Nevada desert.


*Canoes / Paddles / PFD's provided with entry fee.
1 canoe per team. These are fast for a canoe and fit 3 people.


** You may bring your own boat or upgrade to a kayak for an extra fee.
$35 per kayak, for a 1 or 2 man rental.
You must inform us by e-mail 1 week ahead of time or you will be required to use the standard race canoe.

***Sails and Kites ARE allowed.
***Mt. Bike Rentals are available but in limited supply.

**Awards ceremony will occur after the top 4 overall teams finish. Division medallists will be given at the finish line upon the teams completion of the race. All racers will receive a race T-shirt, a swag bag and a race completion award. Post race food will be provided for all racers.

Required Personal Gear-
(Every person must have & carry their own at all times)  This is a fully self supported race where you supply your own food, water, and all other gear.
All of this gear is inexpensive yet necessary and can be purchased at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, or any sporting goods store.

-Whistle
-Knife
-Emergency space blanket.
-Hydration pack or bottles with total capacity of at least 100 ounces to be carried at all times.
-Small personal first aid kit.

-Race bib number to be worn at all times (provided at check-in).
 -Mountain bike & helmet.

-Survival mirror
-Suitable clothes & shoes for all venues.
